Apr 08 - Why is "Ensaladilla Rusa" called "ensaladilla" and not "ensalada"? It's a dish served in Spanish restaurants.

I've done some research already on this question, and it seems that Russian salads (or, at least, those that are referred to as "ensaladillas rusas") in Spanish are very similar to American potato salad. Anyone have a recipe or know what kind of restaurant might serve them? Thanks. Also, are they especially liked and served in Spanish restaurants? In my Berlitz Intermediate Spanish lesson, two couples eat at a Spanish restaurant featuring typical Spanish food, and this item is on the menu. This course teaches peninsular Spanish, or whatever the correct term is for the Spanish spoken in Spain.
