Hi, This is the example sentence SpanishDict gives for the feminine noun, "fortaleza":
"el sitio la convirtió en una fortaleza impenetrable"
It gives this translation:
"the site had been converted into an impenetrable fortress"
I can't figure out what the "la" is doing before "convirtió"
"la" as a definite article doesn't make sense to me. I tried thinking of it as a direct object pronoun, but that doesn't feel right either.
Can anyone tell me what I'm not understanding?
Thank you.
