Aug 03 - Is this phrase well written "wherever there is you"

I heard a song that says "wherever there is you, I'll be there too" I now what it refers to, but it sounds weird to me "wherever there is" Shouldn't it be "wherever you are"? Or something like that? Please somebody explain me why? I'm just learning. Thanks
