Okay, first off, I'm taking Spanish-Spanish, meaning NOT Latin American Spanish.
I'm a bit confused. Is a "v" ALWAYS pronounced like a "b," no matter where it is located in a word? I know "v" is pronounced like a "b" when it starts a word, like "veinte," but what about "ave" (the word for bird). Is it pronounced "abe"??? Is "verano" (summer) pronounced like "berano" or not??
And if "v" is NOT always prounounced like a "b" why is this? Is it because of the way a word is broken up into syllables, or?....
Is "Z" is always pronounced like "th" no matter where it is located in a word? Is "manzanas" pronounced "man-than-as"? Oh! Zapato. Is "zapato" pronounced "thapato"? Because I've never heard it pronounced that way, but shouldn't it be if "z" is supposedly always pronounced like "th" in Spain? What about "taza"? Is it pronounced "tatha"?
Is "c" ALWAYS pronounced like "th" NO MATTER WHERE IT IS LOCATED IN A WORD? Like if it's located at the beginning, like "cena," it is pronounced "thena," right? And in "hacer" it is pronounced "ather"? "Cita" is pronounced "thita"?
Shouldn't "cinco" be prononced "binco"?? And shouldn't "doce" be pronounced "dothe"?
