So, I'm aware of the dual nature of the word "coger" and its possible inappropriateness in polite company. I was, however, wondering about the many other words that contain "coger." Acoger, recoger, encoger... Are these also avoided, or do they have no association with coger, no shock value at all in those countries (I'm interested in Mexico especially) where other words are chosen? Does anyone have personal experience with this?
I checked previous posts and there was one asking this question a few years ago, but it didn't seem to be adequately answered. Thanks! Also, I'm sorry to those that do view this word as a palabra prohibida!
Sé que coger (discúlpenme por usar esto ahora, no quiero ofender a nadie) puede tener una connotación inapropriada en algunos países, pero ¿es lo mismo con las palabras similares acoger, recoger, encoger, etc.? ¿Se evitan estas palabras en esos países, o no se relacionen con coger?
