Oct 13 - de súbito vs de pronto

I was recently reading dual English and Spanish book, where "de súbito" was translated as "suddenly," and "de pronto" was similarly translated as "suddenly."

Is there any difference between these two phrases? Are they used in different contexts, or are they completely interchangeable and it just depends on the speaker's preference?

Thanks.
