Good Morning!
I'm trying to write a paragraph about a past vacation that uses the correct forms of preterite and imperfecto and I would love some feedback because I'm really struggling with my grammar.
This is the spanish version of my paragraph:
Cuando tenía doce años me fui a California con mis padres y mi hermano. Mientras conducía a casa de mi tía vimos muchas vacas. Me sorprendí al verlos caminar en la calle! Mi tía tenía una casa en los viñedos. Había un montón de flores y recoger algunos para mi madre. El fin de semana mi familia y yo lo pasamos muy bien en la playa. Hacía un poco de frío, así que no nadar. Fuimos a la playa de guijarros y jugamos en las rocas. Había sellos que pone en las rocas. Ellos eran muy bonitas! Tomé un montón de fotos. Fui al zoológico con mi tía y vimos elefantes y jirafas. El elefante era muy grande y la jirafa era muy alto. Fuimos en coche hasta el parque de la secoya y vimos muchos árboles viejos. Eran tan grandes, que nos condujo a través de una! Me gustaba caminar por el bosque. En San Francisco, caminamos por la calle Lombarda. Yo estaba muy cansado porque era una cuesta muy empinada. Mi hermano montó el carro, pero yo estaba demasiado asustada. Nos detuvimos en el puerta de oro y tomó fotos. Era demasiado nublado a ver la parte superior, así que tomé una foto del agua en su lugar. Antes de irnos, nos tomamos un barco a la isla de Alcatraz. Vi muchos edificios viejos y mi hermano subí en uno y metí en problemas. Caminamos a través de la cárcel se vivieron criminales. Fue el mejor vacaciones!
And this is the english version of what I'm trying to say:
When I was twelve years I went to California with my parents and my brother. While driving to my aunt's house we saw many cows. I was surprised to see them walking in the street! My aunt had a house by the vineyards. There were lots of flowers and I picked some for my mother. On the weekend my family and I had fun at the beach. It was a little cold so we didn't swim. We went to pebble beach and played on the rocks. There were seals laying on the rocks. They were very pretty! I took lots of pictures. I went to the zoo with my aunt and we saw elephants and giraffes. The elephant was very big and the giraffe was very tall. We drove to the redwood park and saw many old trees. They were so big, we drove through one! I liked hiking through the woods. In San Francisco, we walked up Lombard Street. I was very tired because it was a very steep hill. My brother rode the trolley but I was too scared. We stopped at the Golden Gate Bridge and took pictures. It was too cloudy to see the top so I took a picture of the water instead. Before we left, we took a boat to Alcatraz Island. I saw many old buildings and my brother climbed on one and got in trouble. We walked through the jailhouse were criminals lived. It was the best vacation!
