Jul 18 - Hubiera/habria/habre

Hi all!

I'm just really confused on the grammar usage for hubiera(hubiese)/habria/habre. I don't understand the difference and I don't know how to use them individually either. I did some research and this is what I have so far: Hubiera is used for something that could've happened if another action was taken (ex. If i did this then I WOULD HAVE been able to...blabalb)...but i can be wrong - what's the difference between hubiera and hubiese anyways?;... I also dont get the difference between habria and habre :S

If any of you can please give me an example phrase and explanation for each of the grammar usage that would be great!

¡Hola!

Les tengo una pregunta. Quiero decir "You will have 3 chances to answer correctly." a alguien de México. Mi intento es "Tendrá 3 oportunidades para responder correctamente." Pero a mi eso suena un poco formal. ¿Hay otra manera de decirlo? ¿O es esa la mejor manera en conversación informal?

What makes a noun Definite or Indefinite? An Egg is El Huevo which is singular and masculine but a fish is Un Pescado also singular and masculine.

Would it be incorrect to refer to a fish as El Pescado?

cast the line... in Spanish

or, if so inclined to take it further:

when you cast the line, it is important to keep your index finger on the line until you are in the motion of casting, then you release your finger as the line goes out into the ocean

Estoy leyendo un artículo, y en la primera oración dice "El español percibirá una buen uso de esta lengua..."

1.) No entiendo el uso del verbo "percibir" en este contexto. (Aquí está el texto completo: Apuntes de Gramática: porque, dado que, ya que, pues, puesto que)

2.) Debe decir "un buen uso" en vez de "una buen uso", ¿verdad?

3.)¿Es normal escribir una oración tan larga sin comas?

No sé si este artículo fue escrito por alguien cuyo primer idioma no es el español. ¿Qué opinan?

El español percibirá una buen uso de esta lengua cuando el interlocutor sea capaz de alternar en las frases causales los nexos que enlazan el motivo de la acción verbal que se expresa y no limitarse a repetir continuamente “porque”, “porque” y “porque”.

I'm Hispanic, but have lived in the United States for many years. Whenever I forget how to say a word in Spanish for referral,. I always look it up in my CASSELL'S Spanish Dictionay but I have not been able to find the translation for the words in question for quite some time.

In Spanish we use the word TOBILLO specifically for the two bones which protrudes from each side of your ankle. So since the ANKLE is an extention of your TOBILLO/shouldn't ANKLE be named different than TOBILLO in the Spanish language? If I were to refer to my TOBILLO(S) on my right foot in Spanish I would say: Los TOBILLOS DE MI PIE DERECHO., which in English the written translation for this sentence then, will be improperly translated to read: THE ANKLES OF MY RIGHT FOOT when in fact I was actually reffering to the TWO TOBILLOS on my right foot. I hope I haven't confused any of you. My husband who is not hispanic and English is his first language told me I could say: The ANKLE BONES. What do you think?

I will appreciate some input.
