Do you speak English as a first or second language ?

You may have noticed that I ask this question of 'newbies' quite a lot ,
there is a good reason why I do so. When we notice that there is a
correction needed in the English sentence of a member whom we know
to have English as their mother tongue , we may playfully chide them for
making a silly or obvious mistake, but if we are aware that the English is
from a member who is learning English , or both English and Spanish ,
then our correction will be more expansive and explanatory
We will take pains not to embarrass them , and encourage them to ask
for help whenever they want it
We are all on the same page here , all learning and helping others to learn.
Please help us to help you by telling us which language is your strong suit,
try out your translations first before asking a question , so that we may
then correct you .And use all the learning tools that are here for your help
