Jul 23 - Nada mås :)

Hello friends,

I read a strange Spanish sentence in a book today (may not be strange for others) ...

The sentence is "Nada más instalar la red, se engacharon las computadoras" ... The english translation provided in thd book is " The net had barely been installed when all the computers crashed .

Now it seems strange to me because the literal meaning of "nada más" is nothing more .. and I am not being able to figure out asto how it could mean "hardly" ...

If I were to translate this, I would probably say " apenas se había instalada la red cuando se engacharon las computadoras"

I am not sure how in the world can "nada más plus verb" means hardly .. hehe

Is this some idiomatic usage of "nada más" .. May be some native friend or an expert couldmclear it upmfor me .. hehe ..
