I've noticed several nouns in Spanish have the endings A or O, but very different meanings. For example acero and acera - one means steel and one means sidewalk. Is there a gramatical origin behind this? Or is it just a coincidence. Is it related to have adjectives have different endings?

Hello, I'm trying to figure out if there is a good English translation of the phrase "toda precaución es poca." I've tried a few translators and only get what seems to be a literal translations. I'm wondering if the phrase is similar to "you can't be too careful"? I'd appreciate any thoughts. Thanks! Jackie
When we are talking about a guy and we want to say that he plays do we say "juega" or "Juego"?

I would like to clarify something. In English, when we use our senses such as sight or hearing, we usually see or hear these things in action. So I want to know how to say this in Spanish.
For example: "I saw you swimming in the lake."
What would be the grammatically correct Spanish equivalent? "Te vi nadar en el mar." Or "Te vi nadando en el mar." Are both wrong or are both right?
Another example: "I heard birds singing in the park."
"Yo oí/escuché pájaros cantar en el parque." Or "Yo oí/escuché pájaros cantando en el parque."
The context is a converstaion between A and B :
A: "Solo tu mismo puedes permitir que jueguen con tus emociones... nadie mas puede."
B: "Pero hay veces que uno se puede dejar llevar, y pueden llegar a jugar con tus emociones"
I don't understand the meaning of "dejar llevar" and "llegar" in B's response. "llevar" means carry and "llegar" means arrive. But i still can't put the meaning of the whole sentence together. Please help. Thanks!

So I read something really weird on the internet today. After leaving a comment in Spanish under a YouTube video, someone replied to me "You're obviously not a native speaker."
I was confused because, though I'm not a native speaker, it felt sort of insulting to my Spanish that he would find it so novice. I checked my grammar, and everything checked out, so I simply typed "Excuse me? How would you know?".
He replied "because you use a subject pronoun in every sentence. No native speaker would do that; it makes you look "retarded"." Now I don't know if this guy was just having a bad day or something, but it kind of struck a nerve, so now I'm here looking for an alternative opinion on the matter.
My question is for native Spanish speakers: does using Subject pronouns like "yo" and "tú" before every conjugated verb, or even in moderation, make one look novice or stupid? Is there something wrong with this? I do this most of the time when speaking and writing, by the way.

So I just went to the local grocery store in Buenos Aires and paid using my credit card. The cashier ran my credit card, then gave me the credit card slip and asked me for my "firma y aclaración." I understood that she needed my signature. But "aclaración "? She wanted an explanation? Well, it turns out that she wanted me to print my name below my signature. I later looked up "aclaración " in SpanDict but found no possible meaning for printing one's name. Is anyone familiar with "aclaración " in the context I described?

The context is a guy watching sports on TV at a bar and the bartendar is going to switch channel. The guy says: "Por favor no la cambies. Estoy alentando a mi equipo."
"cambies" is the subjunctive form of "cambiar". Why is subjunctive used it? I thought the imperative should have been used because it is an order for the bartendar?
